The Bar Council’s New Criminal Pupillage Funding Scheme: how to apply

 

On Monday 14th December 2020, in the inaugural speech from the Bar Council’s Chair-Elect, Derek Sweeting QC, the Bar Council announced the new Criminal Pupillage Funding Scheme.

Under this scheme, administered by the Bar Council, a number of commercial sets have each offered to fund a criminal pupillage which would otherwise (due to the financial impact of Covid-19) not be offered, funding up to a maximum of £20k.

The following commercial sets or groups of members from commercial sets have agreed to participate in funding pupillages:

Keating Chambers, 20 Essex St, Atkin Chambers, 3 Verulam Buildings, Matrix, Brick Court, 4 Pump Court and Blackstone Chambers.
