Latest Best Practice Guidance from the Bar Council Race Working Group


The Bar Council’s Race Awareness Training Guide is available online here as a three part course designed to increase understanding of race and promote anti-racism at the Bar. Materials include a summary of legal and regulatory duties, as well as explaining different types of racism.

You and members of your chambers can also book onto a free facilitation course taking place on 15 December at 5pm for guidance on how to deliver this training in chambers. For more information and to register for the course please see here.

The Bar Standards Board has also released a statement of expectations for chambers on anti-racism. This includes engagement with training amongst other actions and a set of four expectations for each chambers with regards to their stance on anti-racism.
