Person Specification

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, commercially minded and experienced in legal, construction or related sectors. They must show strong leadership, business development skills, and excellent communication. Proven team management, sound judgment, client service focus, and the ability to balance strategic work with hands-on support are essential. Emotional intelligence, resilience and collaboration are key.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading, supervising and developing members of the clerking team
• Holding practice development meetings to support barristers’ long-term career goals
• Identifying and delivering business development and marketing opportunities
• Reviewing pricing strategies, fee proposals and contractual terms
• Negotiating fees and supporting Practice Managers and Assistant Practice Managers with negotiations
• Ensuring accurate data entry to support effective reporting and case management
• Acting as the lead point of contact when the Joint Directors of Clerking are absent
