This important role offers the successful candidate significant responsibility, including deputising for the Practice Director, in one of two outstanding, highly personable, practice management teams.

Person Specification

  • IBC qualifications such as ILM/BTEC or graduate level
  • Ideally, 10+ years’ experience in another leading civil Chambers
  • Accomplished relationship builder (internal and external)
  • Strong mentoring capability
  • Demonstrates leadership
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highly personable, friendly, team-focussed worker with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • A flexible approach to the working day
  • Hardworking, resilient, and reliable, with pride in delivering a high-quality service

Key Responsibilities

  • Reinforce the Practice Director’s leadership of the clerking team
  • Assist with day-to-day management responsibility for the clerking team, including mentoring and development of junior team members
  • Fees proposal, negotiation and agreement
  • Significant involvement in business development and marketing opportunities
  • Relationship management and development
  • Practice development and practice review
  • Significant client, court and member communications
