Chambers is seeking to recruit an experienced Practice Manager. This is a key role in the clerking team, providing support and expertise to members and clients, while leading a team of three clerks.
We are looking for an excellent communicator with a proactive approach, who can demonstrate knowledge of the legal services sector. The Practice Manager will be expected to take a leading role in the day-to-day affairs of the clerks’ room and to ensure the efficient running of their team.

Person Specification

• Significant experience working as a senior practice manager in a leading set of Chambers, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong track record in business development and marketing at the Bar.
• Strong people management skills and a commitment to maintaining effective working relationships
• A proven ability to work to tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment, and to manage and lead on a diverse and demanding portfolio of responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Clerking and Business Development, the Practice Manager will have line-management responsibility for the team’s Deputy Practice Manager and Assistant Practice Manager, providing training and supervision as required.

Professional Qualifications

Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 GSCE's at A-C (or equivalent), including Maths and English, excellent people skills, a focused and proactive approach and be articulate and client friendly. Previous experience, in Chambers or other professional services environments is preferred.
