Key Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Financial Controller:
- Timely collection of barristers professional fees by maintenance of an efficient and effective credit control system
- Maintaining relationships with professional clients
- Managing the collection of publicly & privately funded fees
- Notifying barristers of payments
- Maintaining spreadsheets for reconciliation purposes
- Managing a monthly aged debt
- Managing the Chambers Professional Fee Account via online banking:
- Daily monitoring of payments in
- Reconciling payments with Lex payment reports
- Creating payment runs for authorisation and processing
Professional Qualifications
- All essential:
- Previous experience in fee collection within a barristers chambers
- Knowledge of Lex (Desirable)
- Knowledge of core office management applications (Outlook, Excel, Adobe etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, to deal with several tasks at the same time and to prioritise appropriately
- Flexibility, adapting to changing needs, the ability to cover for the Financial Controller in their absence; willingness to undertake duties not specified
