Following a period of considerable growth in the use of arbitration as the preferred method of international dispute resolution, there has been a considerable increase in demand for the LCIA’s services. As a result, it is recruiting two Caseworker Administrators to join its highly personable and effective team, which is responsible for the day-to-day administration of cases.

Person Specification

  • Highly suitable candidates will ideally possess 2-5 years’ relevant experience in a similar legal/ADR/professional environment, and be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills relevant to the functions contained within the detailed JD.
  • They will be highly numerate, meticulously organised, able to work well under pressure, proactively prioritise tasks, multi-task and be reliable. They will possess an acute attention to detail and have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising casework accounting matters in liaison with LCIA accounting staff
  • Liaising with arbitrators to receive their fee notes (invoices) and receipts
  • Communicating with arbitrators and their assistants in relation to their fees and other case-related matters, including awards and the termination of proceedings
  • Monitoring, forecasting and reporting the financial status of cases
  • Working closely with Counsel on the financial aspects of their cases, escalating issues where necessary
  • Preparing budgets for costs and calculating required Advance Payments for Costs
