This is a great role providing critical billing support to our Practice Management and Finance teams. The work is varied, liaising with barristers and colleagues to prepare and process bills, as well as chasing unpaid bills. Person Specification

  • Excellent attention to detail and numeracy skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Well organised and efficient.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Experience of working on their own as well as in a team.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in certificated Legal Aid billing and using CCMS (desirable).

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with barristers regarding their work done.
  • Monitor Chambers’ time recording software and billing inboxes.
  • Accurately draft the necessary bills.
  • Process billing and produce fee notes across a range of practice and funding streams.
  • Develop an understanding of the workings of our clients, including Legal Aid Agency and all other appropriate funding / retainers used by members of Chambers.
  • Deal with queries regarding bills, invoices and fee notes, or ensure queries are passed to the relevant person in a timely manner with sufficient information to ensure they are followed up.

Professional Qualifications

Relevant degree standard qualification preferred or 3 A-level qualifications (including an A* to C grade in Mathematics).
