Eyes on the Future: LPMA launches membership drive to support the Bar
Today the Legal Practice Management Association announced an important initiative to increase its support of those working in chambers, across the full range of chambers roles and at every level of seniority.
The Association, now in its twenty-fourth year, currently represents professionals involved in legal practice management from more than 100 sets, but has previously focused on those in senior roles.
Commenting on today’s announcement, Catherine Calder and Rachel Holmes, Co-Chairs of LMPA said “these are testing times; we want to get the message out that the LPMA is an organisation that can offer valuable and practical support to professionals operating at all levels of chambers practice management encompassing the full spectrum of roles from Management and Strategy, Marketing and BD, to HR and Equality and Diversity, Compliance, IT and Finance”.
Membership of the LPMA will provide members of your staff team with a range of benefits including an extensive and varied training programme, regular networking with fellow professionals and - in conjunction with the Bar Council and the IBC - access to a free Employee Assistance helpline. The Association plays a central role in the Bar Council COVID-19 Working Group and LPMA representatives sit on the full range of Bar Council committee as well as liaising extensively with the BSB, giving members a voice on issues relating to the profession, its representation and regulation.
The Co-Chairs note that “in supporting those in staff roles within Chambers, we aim in turn to support individual sets and of course the Bar overall.”
To this end the LPMA is offering sets two memberships for the price of one to prospective members who join before the end of November 2020 (currently £50 per annum for full members and £25 for associate members).
