An in-person session for senior managers in chambers

Handling complaints within chambers can be a complex and sensitive exercise, requiring a careful and practical approach to achieve the best outcomes for stakeholders.

This session, led by lawyers from Kingsley Napley LLP, will focus on the more challenging aspects of conducting investigations in chambers, especially with respect to sensitive allegations such as sexual misconduct, harassment, bullying and discrimination.

Attendees can expect to hear about some of the knottier issues that arise in such investigations, including:

  • How to deal with material in a way that is complaint with UK GDPR obligations
  • Determining if legal professional privilege might attach to any aspect of the investigation product
  • Anticipating and accommodating parallel criminal or regulatory investigations
  • Dealing with regulatory reporting and enquiries, as well as complying with BSB Handbook obligations.
  • Responding to actual or potential press interest or media reporting.

This session will include lawyers from across Kinglsey Napley who regularly advise on internal investigations:

Come prepared with questions for an interactive and insightful discussion!

Due to restrictions in space we suggest that this session is most suitable for those senior members of chambers who are involving in conducting investigations.
