Tuesday 13th September 2022
A practical and free session hosted by the Bar Council sharing useful ideas, tools and resources to help chambers and barristers acquire greater competence in supporting people with disabilities and understand accreditation requirements.
In this free session, we will outline the benefits of acquiring accreditation (as Disability Confident), explain what is involved and offer those attending an opportunity to participate in a pilot programme that provides tailored advice and support.
We will also introduce AccessAble, an innovative platform (currently used by 7BR) that provides high quality access information about chambers – not only supporting anyone with a disability, but also sending a powerful message about your commitment to inclusion.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues relating to disability at the Bar.
Self-employed barristers or those with a responsibility to make reasonable adjustments; Equality and Diversity Officers; practice managers/clerks; heads of pupillage; members of disability networks (both barristers and students); and, any barristers with an interest in disability issues.
