Our Client is a leading Barristers’ Chambers practicing across a range of Crime, Regulation, Civil and Commercial law with a strong reputation in each of its practice areas. Following a review of its administrative and management functions, Chambers now seeks to appoint a highly suitable individual to the newly created role of Regulatory and Professional Disciplinary Clerk.

Reporting to the Chambers Director and Head of Chambers, the purpose of the role is to manage the Regulatory and Professional Disciplinary team and assist in the development of new relationships in as many of the regulatory tribunal arenas as possible.

The regulatory clerk will also assist members in applications to the AG Civil List, or any over relevant applications.

Main Duties include:

  • Management of the team’s workload and diary
  • Ensure fair distribution of work in line with Chambers’ policies
  • Regular reviews of hourly rates and set fees
  • Monitor and adhere to the fees schemes set by each of the regulators
  • Develop and maintain Chambers’ Client relationships
  • Attend all team meetings
  • Attend relevant events with team members

Person Specification

  • Significant clerking and marketing skills
  • The ability to work efficiently and without supervision
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible and willing to assist if the need arises to any aspect of the running of Chambers.
