Essex Court Chambers is one of the leading commercial sets and require a Team Leader to manage one of the Barristers’ groups.
You will report to the Senior Clerk and work closely with colleagues, Members of Chambers and Clients. The role is integral to the efficient and effective functioning of the team, requiring effective day to day clerking and on-going development of members’ practices. This will include liaison with solicitors and other clients, fair allocation of work and complex fee negotiation. You will also be expected to undertake regular practice development meetings with Members.
This is an extremely busy and demanding role and requires strong inter-personal skills, tact and tenacity. Applicants will need to demonstrate their experience across the wide-ranging competencies required of a Team Leader.
You will have a good educational background and be articulate, demonstrate initiative and the ability to perform accurately under pressure and to deadlines. This role would suit someone who has been actively working at a senior level for 10 years +. The candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and have proven office administration skills. Experience of LEX practice management system is desirable.
