Senior Clerk – Leading Chambers (London) 

My client is a leading barristers’ chambers with over 60 tenants. Members of chambers practise in all areas of family and related law, including private and public children law, financial and property proceedings associated with marriage or partnership breakdown, court of protection, international movement of children, alternative families and human rights law.

Chambers is now seeking to appoint a highly suitable candidate to the role of Senior Clerk.  

Working closely with the Chambers Director, Executive Board and members of chambers, this senior leadership role will:

  • Manage, develop and ensure the continuity of a highly professional clerking and practice management function.
  • Play an active and hands on role in the on-going management and development of members’ practices, including detailed planning and support.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of innovative business development and marketing strategies, including significant face to face client interaction.
  • Review and where necessary implement significant change to processes and systems.
  • Actively support and encourage the development of the clerking and staffing teams, training and mentoring others accordingly
  • Lead on the creation of a culture of open communication and one in which the sharing of ideas and information is actively encouraged

Suitable candidates will have a strong track record of managing change in a chambers, legal or professional services role. They will have demonstrable leadership and development skills aligned to excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will be accomplished at building professional relationships capable of delivering business.
