LPMA Lunchtime Briefing: Wellbeing at the Bar - The Legal Perspective

Following the presentations by Nick Hill, the Chairman of the Institute of Barristers Clerks, and Stuart Thompson, Chambers Director at Maitland Chambers, we have invited Joanna Chatterton and David Murphy of Fox Williams to explore the legal duties and obligations that chambers have when dealing with mental health and wellbeing amongst members and employees.

Jo and David have extensive experience working in partnership with clients in the legal sector to meet the challenges and risks which arise from colleagues suffering mental health problems. This has included, in particular, advising and supporting chambers to manage the immediate and longer term issues which arise when members become ill and so avoid damaging and costly litigation. They will be sharing their observations of how the legal and regulatory framework fits with the particular business structure of a set of chambers.

This would be of interest to all those who have a management role in chambers.
