Our client is a leading set specialising in criminal law, financial crime, health and safety, regulatory and disciplinary and consumer and trading standards law. Members act as both advisors and advocates in all aspects of their key practice areas both domestically and internationally.
Chambers is now seeking a Fees Clerk to develop and manage a fully effective and pro-active fees function for Chambers. Criminal fee billing experience is essential.

The Role:

This important and hands on role works closely with the Senior Clerk and wider clerking team to manage and develop the fees function of Chambers. 

Main responsibilities include:

  • Working in conjunction with the Senior Clerk, ensuring efficient and streamlined fees systems for Chambers.
  • Billing defence graduated fees in accordance with the correct scheme using the LAA online portal.
  • Billing prosecution graduated fees in accordance with the relevant CPS Graduated Fee Manual of Guidance and correct scheme.
  • Billing prosecution VHCC monthly/quarterly fees.
  • First point of contact with the LAA in relation to AGFS inaccurate payments.
  • Billing Local authority fees & Government Legal Department fees ensuring we have the correct purchase order numbers.

The person will be:

Used to dealing with high volumes of information and working to deadlines.  Comfortable creating and presenting reports for use by colleagues and management teams. Highly organised, numerate and professional, with a can-do approach to work. Calm under pressure, punctual, reliable and flexible and a supportive team player. 

An attractive remuneration package, commensurate with the seniority of the position is being offered.
