In view of concerns expressed by the LPMA and others about the difficulty of providing an effective response in the light of the pandemic, the Bar Standards Board has extended the general deadline for the Regulatory Return to the 31 March 2021, with the deadline for five questions on 4th January 2021. The LPMA will be holding a further online Q&A session, with Julia Witting, Head of Supervision at the BSB, on 19th November 2020 at 12:45pm to discuss the Regulatory Return.
Now you have had a chance to look through the Return, and perhaps start to think about how you might respond, you may have come across some questions where you are not sure what is expected of you. This will be an opportunity to ask Julia about any of the questions in the Return that you need help with, and in particular the questions which still need to be addressed for the January 4th deadline.
Julia comments, “these are the questions in the Return that relate to the impact of COVID-19 on the profession. Without your response to these questions, the Bar Standards Board is unable to properly understand the impact of the pandemic on the profession and consider how we might be able to respond to support the profession, as a regulator, in a timely manner”.
